Infection control in our practice
The purpose of infection control is to prevent the spread of cross infection between patients.
According to the Australian Dental Association, the techniques and routine work practices used for infection control should:
- reduce the number of infectious agents in the dental practice environment;
- prevent or reduce the likelihood of transmission of these infectious agents from one person or item/location to another; and
- make and maintain items and areas as free as possible from infectious agents.
Be assured that at East Melbourne Dental we uphold all of the requirements outlined by the ADA which are necessary for minimising the incident of infection.
Infection Control Guideline information from the ADA can be found at the ADA website.
All of our staff are more than willing to discuss any concerns or questions you have regarding this matter.
